It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carrie Wright Smashum of Hollywood, South Carolina, who passed away on January 9, 2022, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her husband William Smashum, Jr.. She is survived by : her daughters, Jacquelyn Smashum Heyward and Olivia Smashum Unthank; her sons-in-law, James Heyward and Michael Unthank; her grandchildren, James Smashum Heyward (Brenda), Jarvetta Heyward and Alexandra Unthank (David); her great grandchildren, Jayson, Jarad, Jayde, Jayden and August; and her nieces, Jeanette Richards and Carolyn Singleton. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.

Due to COVID-19 protocols, everyone is required to wear a face mask and practice social distancing.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in the name of Carrie W. Smashum to Mt. Olive Baptist Church for their Education Fund.
