As we bid Joseph farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Joseph is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Rufus James and Myrtie James; his daughter Thresia Estes Brock; and his siblings, Bobby Joe James of Anderson, Jack James, Billy Ray James, Nellie Aiken and Margaret.
He is survived by: his wife Erlene Rutledge James of Honea Path; and his son Christopher J Estes, Sr. of Anderson. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
