He was predeceased by: his grandson Dallas Ashton Kalin; his parents, Steven Eugene Hicks and Marjorie Pigate Hicks Drawdy; and his stepfather W. C. Drawdy. He is survived by: his wife Betty Hicks; his children, Dana Hicks Kalin (Larry) and Ronald Barry Hicks (Tesha); his grandchildren, Sara-Julia Hicks, Whitleigh Kalin and Hampton Hicks; his siblings, Terry Hicks (Dianne) and Cathy Hicks Pate (Lewis); and his pet Chevy. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Caughman-Harman Funeral Home - Lexington Chapel (503 N Lake Dr, Lexington, SC 29072).
