He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Oscar Woody and Dovie Woody; his wife Lynn Woody; his children, Dennis Woody (Melanie), Miranda Chalk (Andy) and Amy Absher (Cody); his grandchildren, Jersey Morgan, Braxton Woody, Kaleigh Chalk, Marlie Chalk (Hadyn), Aubrey Chalk, Alli Toney, Charleigh Warren and Skylin Absher; and his siblings, Mary, Irene, Emmie, Clifford, Roy and Karen.

Visitation was held on Sunday, April 14th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Lake Bowen Baptist Church (404 Sugar Ridge Rd, Inman, SC 29349). A memorial service was held on Sunday, April 14th 2024 at 4:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
