He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Lee Settlemyre and Vannie Florence Haynes Settlemyre. He is survived by: his wife Peggy Y. Settlemyre; his sons, Jeffrey Wayne Settlemyre (Laurie) of Spartanburg and David Gregory Settlemyre (Kelly) of Rutherfordton; his sisters, Amelia S. Taylor of Spartanburg and Dorothy S. Buckner of Forest City; his grandchildren, Katie, Josh, Maddie, Landon and Connor; and his great grandchildren, Billy, Johnny, Mable and Ervin.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 13th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Padgett & King Mortuary (227 E Main St, Forest City, NC 28043). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, May 13th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, May 13th 2025 at the Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery.
