It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Edith Settle Mathis (Inman, South Carolina), born in Spartanburg, South Carolina, who passed away on May 5, 2024, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Susie Settle (Turner) and Grady Settle; her husband Walter William Mathis; her sisters, Emily Mae Settle and Lois S. Johnson; and also Garrison Duncan.
She is survived by: her sister Jean S Patterson of Laurens; and her stepgrandsons, Scott Cothran (Beverly) and Mark Cothran (Kelly). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
