She was predeceased by: her parents, William Thomas McDowell Jr. and Mildred Cannon McDowell; and her sister Judith McKelvey. She is survived by: her siblings, Thomas McDowell, III (Jean), Bruce McDowell (Cheryl) and Linda Pike; her close friend Teresa Painter; her stepdaughter Dallas Mendes (Travis); and her grandchildren, David, Andre, Camron, Travis Jr., Mendes and Khole McDowell. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
