He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruby Dempsey (Burnett) and Daniel Dean Dempsey; his wife Janie Lou Dempsey; his brothers, Dennis Dempsey, John Dean Dempsey and Wayne Dempsey; and his siblings-in-law, Sue Dempsey and Steinar Murray.
He is survived by: his siblings, Donald Dempsey and Trish Murray; his stepchildren, Ronnie Shipman, Doug Shipman and Kathy Bradburn (Todd); his stepgrandsons, Adam Bradburn and Tyler Bradburn; and his nieces and nephews, Mark Dempsey, Denny Dempsey, Kim Brice (Chris), Stacey Shamis (Brian) and Cindy Dempsey.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery (251 Hannon Rd, Inman, SC 29349).
