He was predeceased by: his parents, Glenn Johnson and Ruth Alverson Siegel; and his son Donnie Johnson. He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Prewette Johnson; his children, Dawn Johnson, Michael Johnson and Jamie Johnson; and his siblings, Terry Johnson, Jerry Johnson, Michael Johnson and Sharon Suddeth. He is also survived by eight grandchildren.
