She was predeceased by : her parents, Velda Blanton (Gilbert) and Zeb Blanton; her son Gregg Sams; and her sisters, Elsie High and Eunice Burrell.

She is survived by : her husband Michael Sams; her sisters, Annie Cleveland of Inman, SC and Myrtle Easler of Chesnee, SC; her grandchildren, Nichole Norris and Blake Sams; and her great grandchild Whitley Norris.
