With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Stephen Vereen of Inman, South Carolina, born in Spartanburg, South Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 18, 2025 at the age of 57. While his presence may be gone, his impact lives on in the kindness shown to others and the joy found in the ordinary moments of life.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Rosa Mae Jones and John Harvest Vereen; his son Stinson Paul Lindsey; and his brothers, Otis and John Earl Vereen.
He is survived by: his daughter Jasmin Lindsey (Omega) of Inman; his stepdaughters, Ebony Lindsey of Boiling Springs and Ashley Lindsey-Holloway (Brandi) of Boiling Springs; his brother Leon Jones of Spartanburg, SC; and his aunts and uncles, Doris Chavez of Spartanburg, SC, Annie Jones of Spartanburg, SC, Gettys and Ben Jones of Spartanburg, SC. He is also survived by six grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 26th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel (602 Howard St, Spartanburg, SC 29303).
