Barbara Esther Johnston Obituary

With sadness, we share the passing of Barbara Esther Johnston (Irmo, South Carolina). Barbara, born on July 19, 1948, passed away on August 20, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Hiram Phillip Johnston and Esther Williams Johnston; and her brother-in-law Ted Clyburn. She is survived by: her children, Phillip Warren Clapp (Josie) and Ashley Clapp Kirchner; her grandchildren, Nicholas Kirchner, Johnna West (Ryan), Logan Clapp and Olivia Clapp; her sisters, Sylvia Clyburn and Phyllis Maier (Charles); and her close friends, Carly Gayle Harbold and Patti Combs. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, the American Diabetes Association, and the American Cancer Society.
