She was predeceased by: her parents, Rev. John Willard Middleton and Selma Elizabeth Dendy Middleton; her son Scott Middleton Sherer; and her sister Mary Middleton Malanuk. She is survived by: her husband John Hemphill Sherer; her daughter LaRou Sherer Peters (Robbie); her grandchildren, Sara Jean Peters, Marie LaRou Peters (Hosea) and Robert Glyndon Peters, Jr.; and her great grandchild Margot LaRou Hazelwood.

Memorials may be made to Northeast Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 601 Polo Rd, Columbia, SC 29223.
