It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Edward Robert Thomas Sr. (Irmo, South Carolina), who passed away on July 24, 2022, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Novella Eden and William Wellington Thomas; his wife June Hegler; and his siblings, William, Mable and Frank.

He is survived by: his sons, Edward Robert "Bob" (Amy) and William James "Bill" (Kirsten); and his grandson William Edward.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to the Thomas Family Scholarship at Emory and Henry College in his honor.
