It is with great sadness that we announce the death of George Hamilton Long Jr. (Irmo, South Carolina), born in Columbia, South Carolina, who passed away on August 16, 2022, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Jessie Mae Owens Long and George Hamilton Long, Sr.; and his sister Linda Jo Long Broome. He is survived by: his children, Mary Kathryn O'Kelly Richardson (Larry) of Red Bank, Deborah Lynne O'Kelly Day (Glenn) of Red Bank, Dawn Long Brooker (David) of Fort Mill, David Hamilton O'Kelly (Laurie) of Columbia and George "Trip" Hamilton Long, III (Mary) of Lancaster; his stepdaughters, Dana Binkley Taylor (Keith) of Columbia and Beth Binkley of Washington, DC; and his friends, Helen Tilton Kearney and Frank Melonas. He is also survived by eight grandsons, two granddaughters, five great granddaughters and two great grandsons.
