With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John James Schimmel Sr. (Irmo, South Carolina), born in Washington, District of Columbia, who passed away on February 25, 2023 at the age of 75. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Shirley A. Schimmel; his son John James Schimmel, Jr. (Jim); his grandchildren, Nathan and Amilia Schimmel; his daughter Kelly Schimmel Fink; his grandchildren, Connor and Emma Fink; his daughter Elizabeth Schimmel Connors (Chris); his stepdaughter Niki Ferguson Rousey; his stepgrandchild Tirzah Rousey; his siblings, Carol S. Fugate (Dan), Paul G. Schimmel and Joseph A. Schimmel; and his parents, Chester F. Schimmel and Dorothy Kelly Schimmel. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
