He was predeceased by: his parents, John Maxcy Stewart Sr. and Fannie Rimer Stewart; and his sisters, Dorothy "Dot" S. Henderson and Lois "Maggie" Duerr. He is survived by: his children, Mary E. "Buffie" Stewart and John M. "Trey" Stewart III (Shawna) of Columbia; and his granddaughters, Bailey and Kenzie Stewart.
