He was predeceased by: his parents, William Clyde and Dorothy Chestnut Gibson; and his brother Marion Clyde Gibson. He is survived by: his wife Pamela Rose Gibson; his son John William Gibson, Jr. (Paula); his grandsons, William Burris Gibson and Sam Patrick Gibson; his daughter Beth Gibson Bauknight; and his granddaughter Abby Elaine Bauknight.
