He was predeceased by: his parents, Cameron Player and Beulah Miller Saleeby. He is survived by: his wife Peggy Cooke Player; his sons, Samuel A. Player, Jr. (Brooke), Jeff Player and Sean Smothers; his grandchildren, Brian Player, Amanda Player and Joshua Player; his great grandchildren, Caleb Player and Emma Campbell; his siblings, Franklin Player, Wayne Gandy, Joyce McLendon and Betty Boan; and his niece Renee Broach.
