He was predeceased by: his parents, William Frederick Stanley and Joan Walling Stanfield; his grandparents, Ethel Fennell and Dan Fennell; his stepfather Theodore "Ted" Stanfield; and his sister-in-law Jeanette Thomas.
He is survived by: his wife Connie Padgett Stanley; his children, Lauren Stanley Youmans (Heath) of Islandton, Jessica Stanley Moreira (Andre) of Islandton and Jason Holman Stanley of Greenville; his siblings, Ronnie Stanley (Diane) of Hendersonville, Kevin Stanfield (Deanna) of Andrews and Donna White (Wes) of Hendersonville; his granddaughter Alicen June Cooke; his siblings-in-law, Roland Padgett (Pam), Kirk Ehrhardt, Allen Thomas and Norma Jean Curtis; and his pets, Zeke and Pepper. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Homes and Crematory, Walterboro Chapel (1193 Bells Hwy, Walterboro, SC 29488). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Rice Patch Christian Church (15246 Sniders Hwy, Islandton, SC 29929).
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be directed in his memory to the following: Friends of Colleton County Animal Shelter, 33 Poor Farm Road, Walterboro, South Carolina 29488; or to, Samaritan's Purse, Post Office Box 3000, Boone, North Carolina 28607.
