It is with sadness that the passing of Walter Lee Thompson of Islandton, South Carolina is shared. Walter, born on September 6, 1938, passed away on October 12, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Walter will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around him. He was predeceased by: his wife Carolyn Dopson Thompson; his parents, G. R. Thompson and Etta Waltz Thompson; and his siblings, Rufas Thompson and Maxine Chassereau.
He is survived by: his son Jimmy Thompson of Islandton; and his grandchildren, Steven Wayne Stanley, Teresa Nicole Collis and Shawn Chrisopther Thompson. He is also survived by thirteen great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Adnah United Methodist Churchyard (500 State Rd S-15-84, Islandton, SC 29929).
