With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Luther W. Bearden of Iva, South Carolina, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Luther left this world on October 8, 2025 at the age of 83, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, J. C. Bearden and Ella Mae Bowman Bearden; and his brothers, Mitchell Bearden and Vernon Bearden. He is survived by: his wife Joann Hulett Bearden; his daughters, Valerie Rogers (Mitchell) of Iva, SC and Velvet Bearden of Calhoun Falls, SC; his brothers, Eugene Bearden (Ruth) of Elberton, GA and Joe Bearden (Rose Anna) of Elberton, GA; his grandchildren, Ashley Waters (Brandon) and Christopher Rogers; and his great grandchildren, Lizzie and Lillie.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Lowndesville Pentecostal Holiness Church (215 Depot St, Iva, SC 29655). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at the Forest Lawn Memory Gardens (2699 SC-72, Abbeville, SC 29620).
