She was predeceased by: her parents, James Hubert Townes and Ruth Thomason Townes; and her siblings, Cheryl McGee and Steve Townes. She is survived by: her husband Thomas C. Young; her sons, Brian Young and Michael Young (Tammy); her grandchildren, Jada Rumsey-Young and James Thomas "Jamie" Young; and her sister-in-law Virginia "Jenny" Townes. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 28th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Union Baptist Church Cemetery (703 Barnes Station Rd, Iva, SC 29655).
