He was predeceased by: his parents, James Wallace Rutherford and Gladys Johnson Rutherford; his grandson Perry Ward Chandler; and his siblings, Glenna Hockenbery (Bill) and Gregory Rutherford.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Jeannette Rutherford; his daughter Summer Leigh Rutherford Wilkes of Charles Town; his sister Sandra Jo Wellman (Jim) of Atlanta, Georgia; his stepdaughters, Dawn Marie Stroupe of Valdosta, Georgia. and Wendy Stroupe Chandler (Perry) of Valdosta, Georgia.; his great grandchild Crew McTier Chandler; and his uncle Chuck. He is also survived by seven grandchildren.
