She is survived by: her husband Jesse Whatley; her children, Akinru J. Whatley (Yvette) and Yaw Whatley; her siblings, Harriet W. Wilder (Harrison, Jr.), Benjamin N. White (Joyce), Alvena P. Wilson, Cherlyn W. Monroe and Deborah White; her brother-in-law T. J. Boyd; and her aunt Ethel W. Goodwine. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Viewing was held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Epworth Um Church (1540 Camp Rd, Charleston, SC 29412). A celebration of life was held on Friday, September 25th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Destiny Worship Center (3625 Azalea Dr, North Charleston, SC 29405).
