He is survived by: his wife Wyline Terry Frye Simmons; his children, Cynthia Simmons, Tinsley, Morgan Simmons (Christy), Ajor Johnson (Kaleb) and Terrill Simmons; his stepchildren, Teresa Frye, Marvelous Frya, Theresa Lynn Frye and Gregory Frye; his grandchildren, LeXixa Sheppard, Erykah Thomas, Isaiah Thomas, Morgan Simmons Jr., Az Simmons, Aiyonna Simmons and Asher Johnson; and his siblings, Bennie Lee Simmons, Tommie Lee Simmons, Johnnie Mae Vance, Cora Sales and Azalee Reed.
