With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Abraham B. Jenkins Sr. of Johns Island, South Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 1, 2025 at the age of 96. He was predeceased by: his wife Georgetta Johnson Jenkins; his parents, Esau Jenkins and Janie Bell Jones Jenkins; his son Abraham "Abe" Jenkins, Jr.; and his siblings, Esau Jenkins, Jr., Marie Jenkins Jones, Ethel Jenkins Grimball, James Jenkins, Herbert Jenkins, Esau Jenkins, III and Elizabeth Jenkins.
He is survived by: his children, Kenneth Don Jenkins (Gail), Demett Eva Jenkins and Brittiane V. Martin-Staton (Joseph); his siblings, Loretta Jenkins Saunders, Francena Jenkins Buncomb and Elaine Jenkins; and his siblings-in-law, Alfreda Jenkins, Emma Jenkins-Smalls, Bernice Hartfeild and Earl Buncomb.
Viewing was held on Thursday, May 8th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Smith-Mcneal Funeral Home (2119 Dorchester Rd, North Charleston, SC 29405). A celebration of life was held on Friday, May 9th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Wesley United Methodist Church (2718 River Rd, Johns Island, SC 29403).
