With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gloria Simmons (Johns Island, South Carolina), born in Charleston, South Carolina, who passed away on October 12, 2025 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Gloria departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Gloria may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Gloria leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Thaddeus Simmons and Helen Simmons; her brothers, Solomon Wise, Sr. and Ronald Simmons; and her husband Carl Bailey.
She is survived by: her siblings, Hattie D. Murray, Mattie L. White and Irvin Davis (Myra Davis). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family will be accepting donations in lieu of flowers to assist with expenses.
