He was predeceased by: his parents, D. Frank Gardner and Mayo Byrd Gardner; and his grandson Daniel Markus. He is survived by: his siblings, Elease Small (Max), Nettie Mae Fountain (Carl), Mendal Gardner (Nancy), Frank Gardner Jr., Virginia Douglass (Bub), Sarah McMackin (Bill), Max Gardner (Maree), Sybil Smith (Jimmy), Marian Newsom (Jimmy), Laney Lucas (Wayne), Doug Gardner (Harriet) and Frankie Phillips (Donnie); his brother-in-law Jimmy Newsom; his wife Elizabeth Truesdale (Libby); his daughters, Lee Anna Weber (Wesley) and Sara Lynn Markus (Barry); and his grandchildren, Maria Beals (Greg), Jason Weber (Jenna), Allison Dominguez (Jesus) and Edward Markus (Callie).
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, October 5th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Flat Creek Baptist Church (3737 Victory Rd, Kershaw, SC 29067).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Flat Creek Baptist Church.
