He was predeceased by: his parents, Chalmers Dease and Mary Ethel Taylor Dease; his former wife Shirley Johnson Dease; and his siblings, Claude Dease, Roy Dease and Annie Mae Reeves.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn B. Dease; his children, Randy Dease (Delores), Brenda Rhoden (Kenny) of Kershaw, S. C. and LuAnne Sellers (Randy) of Kershaw, S. C.; his stepchildren, Angie Roberts (Mike) of Kershaw and Andy Broughton of Columbia, S. C.; and his extended family Rev. Bobby James. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
