She was predeceased by: her parents, Ervin Merchant and Mary Agnes Crowder Merchant; her brother William "Billy" Ervin Merchant; and her sister-in-law Marylyn Merchant. She is survived by: her siblings, Gregg Merchant of Kinards, SC, Terry Merchant of Coronaca, SC and S. Ann Vassey (Bud) of Kinards, SC. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 5th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Whitaker Funeral Home (1704 College St, Newberry, SC 29108). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 5th 2026 at 5:00 PM at the same location.
