James L. Cunningham Obituary
We announce the death of James L. Cunningham of Kingstree, South Carolina, who passed away on September 6, 2026, at the age of 69. James will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Louise Cunningham and Bennie Cunningham, Sr.; and his brothers, George Cunningham, Bennie Cunningham, Jr., Al Cunningham and Andrew Cunningham.
He is survived by: his close friend Jacqueline Thomas of Kingstree; his children, Michelle Jones (Shieed) of Teaneck, Tyesha Jones of Atlanta, Georgia, Andrew Foreman of Kingstree and Xavier Thomas of Kingstree; his siblings, Dorothy Wright of Queens, Wilhelmina Green of Queens, Evangelist Linda Turner (George) of Charlotte, Patricia McGill of Riverdale, Nancy Blanks of Columbus, Georgia and Marvin Cunningham of Andrews; and his aunts, Mamie Cunningham (Harold) of Sumter and Francena White of Andrews. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
A memorial service was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Clauddie Henryhand Memorial Chapel (1951 Thurgood Marshall Hwy, Kingstree, SC 29556).
