He was predeceased by: his parents, John Bernard "J. B." Crooks, Sr. and Lillie Mae Pendergrass Crooks; and his siblings, Doris Nell Benke, Wayne Crooks and Kenneth Crooks.
He is survived by: his wife Marian Brown Crooks; his children, Tammy Drost (Doug) of Summerville, SC, John B. "Barney" Crooks, III (Lori) of Decatur, GA and Jennifer Walker (Rohn) of Kingstree; his grandchildren, Brittany Walker, Caitlyn Richardson (Aaron), Roslyn Walker, Kinzleigh Walker, Sarah Drost, Reagan Drost and John Drost; his great grandchild Walker Richardson; his grandchildren, Danielle Culick and Will McKenzie; and his brothers, Carroll Crooks (Teresa) of Anderson, SC and Clyde Crooks of Kingstree.
