He was predeceased by: his parents, John Spearman and Dolores Spearman; his wife Mary Rebecca Ligon Spearman (Faulk); and his brothers, Thomas Franklin "Tommy" Spearman and Anthony Christopher "Tony" Spearman.
He is survived by: his children, Edward Vaughan Spearman (Kelly), Caroline Ligon Ferguson (Joseph), Nicolas John (Carrie), Dave Whitaker and April Elizabeth Whitaker; his grandchildren, Meadow Aster Spearman, Phoebe Blythe Pellum, Esme Claire Pellum, Charlotte Evangeline Pellum, Ligon Hope Ferguson and Julia Louise Ferguson; and his siblings, Robert "Bobby" Spearman (Barb) of Edisto, Dr. James "Jimmy" Spearman (Emily) of Edisto, Dr. William "Billy" Spearman (Starr) of Beaufort and Dr. Maridee Spearman (Bill McLaws) of Hendersonville, NC. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
