She was predeceased by: her parents, James Willard McCutchen and Mildred Odell McClary McCutchen; her husband Dexter Matthews; her sisters, Carol Gandy, Darlene Miles and Clarice Mercer; and her grandson Ethan Hunter Matthews.
She is survived by: her sons, Jay Matthews (Brenda) of Kingstree, Timothy Matthews (Lisa) of Kingstree and Jamie Matthews of Kingstree; her grandchildren, Scotty Matthews and Melanie Matthews; and her sisters, Cynthia Robinson (Bobby) of Kingstree and Charlene McKenzie of Kingstree. She is also survived by seven great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren.
A graveside service was held on Monday, December 1st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Kingstree Second Baptist Church Cemetery (20 County Rd S-45-164, Kingstree, SC 29556).
