He is survived by: his children, Dwight Grant of North Charleston, SC, Felicia Grant Coakley (Anthony) of Goose Creek, SC and Edward "Greg" Goodwine (Llarue) of Lincolnville, SC; his daughter-in-law Valvey Grant (late Melvin "Clay" Jr) of Summerville, SC; his sisters, Fredericka G. Washington (late George, Sr.), Hattie G. Murray (Joseph), Ethelee Grant and Angelette G. Capers (Anthony); and his sister-in-law Bessie S. Grant (late Paul, Jr.). He is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Viewing was held on Wednesday, May 6th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the North Charleston Chapel (4060 Rivers Ave, North Charleston, SC 29405). A celebration of life was held on Thursday, May 7th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the St. Matthew African Methodist Episcopal Church - Davison Road (4345 Davison Rd, Ravenel, SC 29470). A burial was held on Thursday, May 7th 2026 at the Lowndes Cemetery.
