It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Lewis Heins of Lake Murray, South Carolina, born in Brooklyn, New York, who passed away on December 7, 2024, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John L. Heins and Adele J. Heins; and his sister Joan H. Chase. He is survived by: his children, Kim Sanders (Chuck) of Columbia, Johnny Heins of Charlotte and Richie Heins (Jeannette) of Charlotte; his grandchildren, Ashley Odom (Adam), Molly Belhiteche (Florian), Chad Sanders, Whitney Heins and Andy Heins (Maddi); and his great grandchildren, Carrie Lyn, Ella Odom and Anne Belhiteche.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be given to the Lyn P. Heins Endowed Scholarship at Wingate University.
