He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Atkins and Lois Brock Atkins; and his brother David Atkins. He is survived by: his wife Terri Davis Atkins; his children, Nova Atkins (Tim) of Rock Hill, Sara A. Gibson (Russ) of Huntersville, NC, Somer S. Herleikson (Miles) of Clover and N. Adam Simpkins (Rachel) of Fort Mill; his brother Roger Atkins of Boone, NC; and his grandchildren, Skylar, Samuel, Sophie, Stella, Scott, Sloan, Alexander and Gunner.
