He was predeceased by: his parents, James J. Gaul Sr. and Eleanor Brophy Gaul; his former wife Louise C. Gaul; his siblings, Michael Gaul, Kathy Coley (Danny), Tom Gaul (Linda) and Tony Gaul; and his stepson Alan Howell (Libby).
He is survived by: his wife Catherine Howell Gaul; his stepchildren, Georgenanne Ames (Roger), Connie Gauthier (Alan), Cathy Evans (Barry), Edna Mae Howell (Marvin) and James Howell (Iris); his grandsons, Arick Ames and Shane Howell; and his siblings, Ellie Locker, Patty Harden, Kevin Gaul, Rosemary Gaul, Peggy DeMaio (Larry), Maryjane DeSanto (Joe), Dennis Gaul (Janet), Tim Gaul (Kathy), Loretta Mulligan, John Gaul Sr. and Monica Gaul. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
