He was predeceased by: his wife Patricia Buie; his parents, Palmer Buie and Pauline Jordan Buie; and his siblings, John, Jim, Palmer, Wilson, Julian, Raford, Ronald, Paul "Kistler" and Hazel B. Thompson.
He is survived by: his children, James "Jimmy" Buie (Kim), Brad Buie (Linda), David Buie and Nikie Buie; and his brother Gerald Buie (Bettina). He is also survived by nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 14th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Belk Funeral Home Lamar Chapel (217 E Main St, Lamar, SC 29069). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 14th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
