He was predeceased by: his parent Lessie Mills Hammonds; and his brothers, Burris Edward Hammonds and Ernest Eugene Hammonds. He is survived by: his parent Hammonds Hammonds; his wife Rosemary Hammonds; his daughters, Sandy Wemes (Jason), April Carnes (Chris) and Angela Guerrero (Juan); his grandchildren, Kristin Wemes, Jamie Hinson, Natalie Mangum, Michael Hinson, Cody Garcia, Ciara Wemes, Matthew Garcia and Sophia Guerrero; his great grandchildren, Reece Miller and Sadie Miller; his siblings, Robert "Bob" Hammonds (Kathryn), James King Hammonds (Frances), Carroll Hammonds, John David "Bo" Hammonds, Doris Bobb (Robert), Avis Hammonds, Sarah Pendravis (Woody) and Sue Lee Moore (Chester); and his close friends, T. C. and Barbara Carnes.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 6th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Camp Creek Baptist Church (998 Potter Rd, Lancaster, SC 29720). A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 6th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Camp Creek Baptist Church Cemetery (998 Potter Rd, Lancaster, SC 29720).
