He was predeceased by: his parents, Jerry Laney and Janie Faulkenberry-Daniels; and his siblings, Tim Laney, Larry Laney and Tracy Laney.

He is survived by: his wife Kimberly Laney; his children, Crystal Garcia (Jose), Lonnie Laney (Alicia), David Laney, Michael Laney, Billy Laney (Kayla), Arrit "Bug" Laney Jr. (Michelle), Christopher Laney (Melissa), Lane L and Bobby Gulledge (Barbara); his stepchildren, Joshua Rainy, Nautika Canady, Alexis Canady, Scott Truesdale and Tiffany Truesdale; and his siblings, Debbie Sowell and Arnold Laney. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
