She was predeceased by: her husband Vernon W. Kennington, Sr.; her parents, James P. Black and Leola Griffin Black; her granddaughter Felicia; and her sister Joyce McKay.
She is survived by: her children, Vernon W. "Bill" Kennington, Jr. (Benay) of Lancaster, Karan Costner of Lancaster, Leah Smith (Dale) of Lancaster and Linda Callentine (David) of Virginia; her grandchildren, Scott, Stephanie, Laura, Christopher, Jacob, Kortney, Kristina, Kylie and Allie; and her niece Joy Fleming (Ken). She is also survived by 21 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Lancaster Funeral Home & Cremation Service (709 N White St, Lancaster, SC 29720). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
