He was predeceased by : his son Charles Adams, Jr.; his grandchildren, Richard Stacks, Jr. and Kimberly Stacks; his parents, Lewis Adams and Eva Adams; his siblings, Leroy Adams and Helen Sistare; his parents-in-law, Colie and Gertie Flynn; and his son-in-law James "Rick" Stacks.

He is survived by : his spouse Shirley Flynn Adams; his children, Janice Stacks and Bobby Adams (Lori); his grandchildren, Jason Stacks (Tasha), Stacy Threatt (Kenny) and Megan Blackmon; his great grandchildren, Leah, Jesse, Kelsea Stacks, Cheyenne, Colby Threatt and Cora Blackmon; and his sister Martha Ann Floyd.

A celebration of life was held on Friday, April 12th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home (1800 Charlotte Hwy, Lancaster, SC 29720).
