He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Franklin Meeks and Maddie Ann Adams Meeks; his siblings, Ralph Meeks and Johnnie Louise Gilliam; and his brother-in-law Johnny Byers.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Sue Sampley Meeks; his sons, Jeff Meeks (Teresa) and Chris Meeks (Dana); his grandchildren, JT Meeks, Ashley Watson (Adam), Spencer Meeks (Joy), Carson Meeks and Owen Meeks; his great grandchildren, Kenna Watson, Alex Watson and Camyren Meeks; and his siblings, David Meeks (Pat) and Becky Byers. He is also survived by family members and friends.
