It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jean Carnes Gardner Sims of Lancaster, South Carolina, who passed away on March 29, 2023, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Van Elijah Carnes and Willie Mae Bradley Carnes; her husband Donald Gardner; and her son-in-law Jerry Truesdell. She is survived by: her daughter Crystal Gardner Truesdell of Westville, SC; her grandchildren, Brittany Truesdell Bailey (Steven) of Lugoff, SC and Jeremy Truesdell (Sarah) of Kershaw, SC; her great grandchildren, Slayton, Jetson Truesdell, Eason and Caden Bailey; her sisters, Cheryl Carnes Baker (Mike) of Irmo, SC and Melanie Carnes of Elgin, SC; and her nephews, Matthew and Dr. Andrew Baker.
