With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Joseph Adrian Pettit (Lancaster, South Carolina), whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Franklin Pettit and Eleanor Harper Pettit-Brouwer; his brother Eric Stephen Pettit; and his niece Olivia Pettit. He is survived by: his wife Denise Blakeney Pettit; his children, Margaret Amelia Pettit (Neil), Joseph Adrian Pettit Jr. (Dawn), Adam Franklin Pettit (Emily), Katherine Pettit Stroud (Seth) and Andrew Harper Pettit (Julia); his siblings, Pam Pettit Vaughn (Randy) and Bryan Jory Pettit (Lisa); his sister-in-law Tammy Pettit; his stepfather Donald J. Brouwer; his aunt Connie Parker Gatti; his grandchildren, Anne Simmons, Harper, Gray, Callum, Crew and Ilyssa; and his great grandchildren, Pace and Keller. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the First Methodist Church (200 W Gay St, Lancaster, SC 29720). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers or food, the family suggests contributions to the Lewy Body Dementia Association, to First United Methodist Church in Lancaster, or to the Clemson Life Program.
