It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Judy Craig Pate in Lancaster, South Carolina, who passed away on July 13, 2025, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. As Judy Craig departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Judy Craig may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Judy Craig leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her parents, T. W. Craig and Martha Sims Craig; her children, Julie Lear and Jeffrey Preston Lear; and her sisters, Mary Jo Craig and Sudie Whitaker.
She is survived by: her son Marty Lear (Kendra); her granddaughters, Kaitlyn Lear and Heather Rosier; and her sister Rita Elliott.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 16th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Antioch Baptist Church (1734 Antioch Church Road, Lancaster, SC 29720). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 16th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
