It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mamie C. Chavis (Lancaster, South Carolina), who passed away on March 16, 2023, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur C. Cureton Sr. and Alberta Howie Cureton. She is survived by: her children, Rozetta "Rose" C. Thompkins of Richmond Hill, GA, Debra Thompson of Savannah, GA, William A. Chavis Jr. of Savannah, GA, Michael C. Chavis of Columbia, SC and Stephone T. Chavis of Lancaster, SC; and her brother Arthur C Cureton of Lancaster, SC. She is also survived by fifteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
