It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Maxine Lucas of Lancaster, South Carolina, who passed away on October 24, 2025, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James Roof and Virginia Wright Roof; her daughter Jody Boone; her granddaughters, Andrea Lucas and Victoria Lucas; and her brother James Roof.
She is survived by: her husband John Lucas; her daughters, Carla Blackmon and Tina Caskey; her grandchildren, Justin Medlin, TJ Williams, Summer Parker and Bailey Parker; her great grandchildren, Lawson Medlin, Londyn Medlin, Raelynn Lettman, Langston Medlin and Brinley Morris; and her siblings, Johnny Roof, Ray Roof and Gloria Cauthen.
A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, October 28th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home (1800 Charlotte Hwy, Lancaster, SC 29720). A burial was held on Tuesday, October 28th 2025 at the Lancaster Memorial Park (1389 Memorial Park Rd, Lancaster, SC 29720).
